GOP Racism

It looks like the Republicans will be out in the streets with their sheets and nooses before this election is over. The illustration above appeared in a GOP newsletter in San Bernadino, CA this month.

Diane Fedele, president of the group, said she had no racist intent.

"I never connected," she told the newspaper. "It was just food to me. It didn't mean anything else."

But what else did we expect from the party of Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, William Rehnquist, and Ronald Reagan?

"Get to know Barack Obama
When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the livingroom of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him--introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread. His "bright eyes and easy smile" struck me as contrived and calculated--maybe because I was supporting another candidate. Since then, I've never heard him say anything new or earthshaking, or support anything that would require the courage of his convictions. I only voted for him in this last race--because his opponent was a pinhead. And I've been mostly alone in my views. But maybe that's changing."

I know this came from some blog but for some reason it isn't there anymore. Can you help me on that?

Quite attached to the truth, aren't you? Deleted your post about meeting Obama at Ayes house.

Which is it? Who's lying? You or Obama?

Yes, that's odd, isn't it? That particular week in your blog archive looks to be expunged. But the weeks prior and subsequent are not. How about that.

That's OK, though. Here is the Internet Wayback Machine's archive of it. And Patterico took a screenshot too.

So you can delete it but it's still there.

If you were a pro-McCain blogger, the media would be tearing you a couple new orifices and destroying your professional life for having written that post about Obama hanging out in Ayer's living room.

But, don't worry, you're on the side of the Holy One. They'll give you cover just like they do for your Savior.

What are you hiding? Why have you removed your personal account of Barack Obama's close personal relationship with the Ayers-Dohrn family?

Just another lying Liberal trying to hide the truth.

Victory at any cost?

My how typically Liberal of you.

Well, that's okay Maria, we all know the truth...don't we?

Ah yes, the infamous (racist Republicans" rant. Yes Maria, the party of Helms, et al. But then, we don't have any former KKK Exalted Cylops' do we? (That would be YOU guys, with your "conscience of the Senate," Robert Byrd.)

Where are you hiding the Ayers article??

You were right to censor your eyewitness account of the candidate fraternizing with terrorists. Ugly things like that are better left out of the sunlight.

Why delete the post? It just reflects badly on you, and is beyond the pale to pretend you didn't once write what you did about meeting Obama in Bill Ayers' living room.

I would be very interested in an explanation why you did this, either here or if you prefer at my blog.

Thanks!

anniebird,
The Democrats are racist?!? Heavens to betsy!

Thanks for the update, but it doesn't change the fact that a GOP organization distributed the illustration within their official newsletter and then played the dumb cracker card in their own defense.

Oops? It certainly appears that you are the only one in this conversation who's surprised that a DFLer came up with a racially offensive illustration.
